Wat is a catered chalet precisely? [ Back ]
A catered chalet is the ideal combination between the comfort of your own house and the luxury of a hotel. During your stay in one of the Wens chalets you will not need to worry about cleaning, buying groceries, washing the dishes or other household tasks. Also you will not need to look for a restaurant at night for as the staff members will cook a wonderfull three meal course for you. In short you can enjoy your well-deserved skiing holiday!
What is included and not included in the price? [ Back ]
Your stay includes a chalet with clean beds on arrival, 1 x bed linen, 7 x accommodation, 7 x breakfast, 6 x three course dinner, all drinks (except liqours/spirits), final cleaning, gas / water / light and English speaking staff for residential care and information provision.
The stay does not include lunch and any personal expenses, strong alcoholic drinks, tax, towels, use of sauna / Jacuzzi / solarium / wood for the fireplace (except for residence in Crystal chalet) snacks when returning from the skiing slopes (except when staying in a Crystal chalet), ski pass , ski rental, travel and cancellation insurance.
The following features are included When staying in a Crystal chalet: 3 x per week towels, free use of sauna / jacuzzi / solarium / the use of fireplace and everyday an afternoon snack when returning from the skiing slopes.
The following features are included If you stay in a Child friendly chalet: English speaking nanny for children between 1 and 5 years old and on the following days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Friday until 13.00 pm and on Thursday the entire day. A Separate playing room with a variety of toys and movies, children's program, cots and stair gates are avalaible and the staff will serve a special children menu (18.00 hours)
What does an average menu look like? [ Back ]
For us, good food and a extended dinner are key components of a successful skiing holiday. It is therefore, that the chalet staff spend much time, care and attention to the preparation of your dinner. To give you an idea of what you can expect during your stay we have prepared a sample menu for you. Of course, the staff will chose an appropriate wine with each meal.

Is it possible, in any chalet, for the staff to watch over our children? [ Back ]
Unfortunately in our normal chalets it is not possible to ask the staff to take care of your children. However, our office staff can help you find child day care centres situated nearest to your village!
Do the staff have a day-off during the week? [ Back ]
Yes, the staff will have a day off on Wednesdays. On Tuesday evening, the staff will prepare the breakfast for the following morning. You may use the kitchen on Wednesday night yourselves provided that you bring your own groceries. It is very much appreciated that the kitchen and the dining room is cleaned before the staff returns on Thursday. Of course you may consolidate with the staff on which day they should take their day off.
Would it be possible to reserve a room in the chalet individually? [ Back ]
Initially, our chalets are only for rent in its entirety but Wens chalets also proposes many weeks to be open for individual bookings. So yes, You are able to reserve a room in a chalet individually. You book the desired number of rooms and we ensure that the other rooms will be booked by others. Our office staff can tell you exactly which chalet, in your desired week is open for individual reservations. Together with the other guests you will share the living / dining room and other general facilities.
Is a short stay in a Wens chalet negotiable? [ Back ]
A stay of less than a week is only possible if you book via our Business Events department. Wens Business Events will take care of you and arrange not only your accommodation but also transport, ski passes, equipment and extra activities. You can request a quotation via www.wensbusinessevents.nl
Packages are already available from two days and from € 250, - per person.
I would like a towel package reservation, what exactly does this mean? [ Back ]
1 x bed linen is always included. A towel package is not included (except in the Crystal chalets). Costs are € 7.50 per package. You will receive upon arrival a towel package of two towels and a washcloth. This package will be changed on Tuesday and on Thursday. Pleae indicate on the Bookin form or contact our office staff whether you would want to make use of this.
When will I receive the invoice for my stay? How much is the deposit? [ Back ]
You will receive your invoice (which is also your confirmation of the booking) after your written notification to Wens Chalets. We require a deposit of 20% of the total amount. We will request the residual amount eight weeks prior to departure. You will only receive one invoice.
Are there any toys available in the chalet? [ Back ]
There are always enough toys present in our child-friendly chalets. There are on average 2 games available In the other chalets.
Would I need a motorway sticker when travelling through Switzerland or Austria by car? [ Back ]
For driving on the Austrian or Swiss highways (A-roads) and motorways (S road, B180, B302 & S1) a motorway sticker is required and are mandatory! Swiss autobahn vignettes are only available for a 14 months period.
Hereby the following cost for a motorway sticker: Austria valid for 10 days around € 9 Austria valid for 2 months approximately € 24 Year motorway sticker Switzerland (14 months) about € 28
The stickers can be obtained in Austria / Switzerland at the border or at any cigar shops or service stations. Driving without a valid motorway sticker will risk a major penalty. Federal police or customs will have the power to charge a fine up to € 220,.
Can I bring my pet? [ Back ]
Unfortunately, In many cases the chalet owner will not allow pets to the chalet but you are most welcome to consult with one of our office staff!
Is there any internet access present in the chalet? [ Back ]
There is wired or wireless internet available in most of our chalets. If this is not the case, you can assume that internet will be present in the near vicinity of your chalet.
Is there a CD player and / or DVD player and / or TV present in the chalet? [ Back ]
Each chalet has a stereo system available. A TV and a DVD player will be present in a number of our chalets. Not all TVs have a satellite connection. If you need more detailed information about the presence of various equipment, we kindly ask you to contact one of our office staff.

When do I receive the travel documents? [ Back ]
You will receive your digital travel documents at least one week before departure, once your residual payments have been received. The travel documents include directions to the chalet, the chalet's phone number and / or staff, the names of the staff, the vouchers, a survey and any other necessary information about the chalet.
Will lunch be served in the chalet? [ Back ]
Lunch is not included during your stay but If you want lunch to be included, You can order lunch packets with the staff which they will prepare for you. A lunch package consists of 2 sandwiches, a piece of fruit, a candy bar and a drink. You pay € 5, - or CHF 7, - per lunch packet.
Is it allowed to ask the staff what our eating preferences are? [ Back ]
You may at any time ask the staff for small adjustments to the menu!

Of course! We want everybody to have a fantastic holiday and good food will certainly contribute to this. You can make your wishes known through the application form or drop us an email. We would like to know in time what your dietary requirements are, so that our staff can purchase the necessary ingredients. we can not guarantee your specific eating wishes If you notify our staff upon arrival but our staff will do everything in their power to make sure your needs are met.
At What time can we be expected in the chalet on the day of our arrival? [ Back ]
The previous group will depart the chalet at 10:00 AM. The staff will clean the chalet Between 10.00 and 14.00 hours, so it is therefore that we kindly ask you to arrive at the chalet no earlier than 14.00 hours. On departure day we will ask you to leave the chalet no later than 10.00 hours.
Is there a washing machine available in the chalet? [ Back ]
Each chalet will have a washing machine but this is intended for use by the staff only. It is always possible to ask the staff whether it would be possible to make use of the washing machine for urgent purposes.
Are there children cots and high chairs available in the chalet? [ Back ]
Each chalet has 1 cot and 1 high chair available. There are more available in the child friendly chalets. we ask you to indicate on your booking form if you wish to use a cot.
What is the difference between an A and a B room? [ Back ]
Some of our chalets have A and B rooms. an A room has a private bathroom, while B rooms do not have their own sanitary facilities. B rooms share a bathroom (shower and toilet) with the other guests. we have specified the room type Per chalet.
Can we agree with the staff about the time of the dinner? [ Back ]
In each chalet dinner will start between 18 and 19.30. You may always consult with your staff when you would want your dinner to start.
Can I get any discounts via Wens Chalets on my ski pass, ski rental and / or ski lessons? [ Back ]
This would indeed be possible! In most cases The staff will have found a local supplier wich garantees the most quality and service and will have agreed a special discount for the guests of Wens chalets. Please always inform our staff before you rent your skis or buy your ski pass.
How is the price made up of an individual guest? [ Back ]
The published price is the price per (adult) person per week. Children under 1 year stay for free and the price of children between 1 and 3 years: € 250, - per week. Children between 4 and 10 years old get 30% off the published price. (provided that the children stay in their parents room) If there are more then 3 children between the ages 4 to 10 years old, they will need to have their own room.
How is the price made up for a group? [ Back ]
In order to rent the entire chalet, you should meet a minimum amount and that amount is composed of the minimum prescribed number of fully paying persons (regardless of age) per chalet times the published price.
When some of the minimum number of persons are children, The children must pay the adult price until the lower limit for private hire of the chalet is achieved.
Every child above the minimum prescribed number of persons in a high or low season (depending on the period) will receive 50% discount. If the child is between 1 and 3 years old, the 50% discount will not apply but the standard price of € 250, -.
Every adult above the minimum prescribed number of persons in high season (even though the week is in low season) gets 30% discount. If you have less people than the minimum prescribed number, you must pay the full price (up to the minimum number) in order to rent your private chalet. However, you will receive a € 50, - discount for each empty bed (up to the minimum number)

Yes it is possible to pay separately. We will create an invoice for your entire group. If you want to pay separately you must mention the booking code and invoice number.
What is the smoking policy in the Wens Chalets? [ Back ]
Generaly it is not allowed to smoke in all of our chalets. When the chalet has a separate room, like a Stube or TV room than the group may decide themselves whether to use this for a smoking room. It is not allowed to smoke in the dining room nor the bedrooms!
